The Point
At The Point in Saranac Lake, New York, privacy is king and you're treated like royalty. In fact, it's so private that a maximum of 22 guests are allowed per night and guests are only given directions to this romantic hotel just days before they arrive. We know that one of the first steps to enjoying a romantic getaway is to sit back and let all of your stresses melt away. While staying at this all-inclusive resort (even the afternoon tea and unlimited wine and liqueurs are complimentary) you won't have to worry about a thing. You'll dine on the finest of cuisine prepared by, Kevin McCarthy, The Point's executive chef who trained under a world-renowned, three-star Michelin chef in London. You'll also feel spoiled by the elegant accommodations as this hideaway features rustic log cabins with stone fireplaces, custom-made beds and marble baths. You and your loved one will definitely find a little romance while vacationing at this secluded and luxurious "Best Of" pick. And, if your perfect romantic getaway plans would include outdoor adventures, The Point offers (depending on the season) activities like hiking, fishing and water-skiing.

  • They can arrange an in-room massage for you with experienced local massage therapists
  • Your time at The Point can be as solitary or social, as active or relaxed as you like. The possibilities are as broad and grand as the thirty-by-fifty-foot Great Hall in The Main Lodge.
  • They are proud to offer their guests some of the finest cuisine in the world. Their executive chef and his entire kitchen staff have been trained under the culinary guidance of Albert Roux, a world-renowned, three-star Michelin chef based in London.
  • All of their meals are planned at least a week in advance, taking into account dietary restrictions and food allergies of each guest. Every meal you have at The Point will have been specially prepared, made from ingredients flown in from as far away as Scotland. The Point offers world-class cuisine served 'en famille': there is no menu and guests sit down together, family-style, for lunch at 1 p.m. and dinner at 8 p.m. If you prefer, you may dine in front of the fireplace in your room, or have a picnic lunch packed for you to take on a hike or canoe trip. In the morning, they will deliver a continental breakfast to your room, or a cooked-to-order breakfast to your table in the Great Hall.
  • Eleven distinctive guest quarters are spread among four buildings. Each room has a broad lake view, custom-made beds, and spacious private bath. All contain an eclectic mixture of antiques and Adirondack furniture, and all have huge fireplaces of chiseled stone. Each room manages to be both splendid and unpretentious, a place for quiet mornings or reflective evenings.
