Most of us associate Mercedes Benz with luxury sedans and sexy sports cars, not mom’s minivan. But, given Mercedes’ legendary status among discerning drivers around the globe, we should not be surprised that a “Best Of” minivan like the Mercedes Benz R63 AMG was in its gene pool. If any carmaker could make a minivan sexy, it’s Mercedes. The R63 AMG sports the classic styling and impressive performance we’ve come to expect from Mercedes. Imagine a minivan that goes 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds and delivers 503 hp at 6,800 rpm with a 32-valve, V-8 under the hood. The seven-speed automatic transmission is electronically controlled to deliver maximum acceleration in the optimal gear, and the four-wheel electronic traction system monitors the speed of all wheels to detect wheel slip and apply individual brakes and reduce excess engine power as needed. Innovative conveniences have been a Mercedes hallmark, and the R63 AMG has a van full of them including GPS navigation system, driver-selectable, light-sensing headlamps, multi-function steering wheel and infrared rain sensors that automatically adjust wiper speeds.

- Transmission AMG-enhanced 7-speed automatic with AMG SPEEDSHIFT. Electronically controlled shifting. Column-mounted Direct Select shifter provides convenient selection of Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive.
- Touch Shift with fingertip shift controls allows the driver to manually downshift and allows upshifts in Drive via shift buttons behind the upper steering-wheel spokes (left to downshift and right to upshift). Driver-adaptive programming adjusts shift points to the driver's current driving style. Shift into Optimum Gear programming allows one-touch selection of the best gear for maximum acceleration or engine braking by holding the Touch Shift button in the downshift position for one second.
- 4-Wheel Electronic Traction System (4-ETS) Standard 4-ETS monitors the speed of all four wheels to detect wheel slip, then applies individual brakes as needed (to provide the effect of locking the front, rear, and/or center differentials), and/or reduces excess engine power. 4-ETS continually balances the torque split to help ensure that power is permitted to flow to the wheel(s) with traction.
- 20" AMG 5-spoke alloy wheels with 265/45 R20 high-performance tires Infrared rain sensor automatically adjusts wiper speed and intermittent wiper frequency from infinite delay to constant wiping speed based on the amount of rainfall measured on the windshield
- Driver-selectable light-sensing headlamps can be set via the Auto position of the headlamp switch to automatically illuminate in darkness and when entering dark tunnels or parking garages. Multifunction steering wheel provides convenient additional controls for basic functions of the audio system and optional phone, plus operation of multifunction display.
